Learning in the Age of Climate Change – Empowering Learners and Educators in the Face of Climate Disasters

September 30, 2023 @ 10:00 am 11:00 am EDT

With Margaret Favretti ’85 (Author and Advisor to the Aspen Institute and the Climate Mental Health Network)

Moderated by Claudia Portogallo ’17 (Vice Chair of the Yale International Alliance and Mentor at Sankt Afra, Germany)

We invite you to bring in your questions for building regenerative community projects locally. You will gain insights into Maggie’s book, “Learning in the Age of Climate Disasters – Teacher and Student Empowerment Beyond Futurephobia.”. It’s a practical toolkit for creating revitalizing learning ecosystems. Discover how Maggie’s resources can invigorate your initiatives, fostering agency and resilience.

During the conversation, we’ll explore how to overcome feelings of immobilization, overwhelm, and uncertainty, instead enabling connection and impactful community action. Optional break-out rooms at the end of the webinar will facilitate brainstorming for local projects. Maggie’s and Claudia’s work includes collaborations with indigenous communities, climate disaster survivors, local regenerative learning centers, families, and educational institutions. Together, they proactively address climate challenges within their communities.
