🕊️ Yale World Fellow María Corina Machado Wins 2025 Nobel Peace Prize
October 2025 — María Corina Machado, a 2009 Yale World Fellow, has been awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for her leadership in advancing democracy and human rights in Venezuela. The Nobel Committee praised her as “a key, unifying figure in a political opposition that found common ground in the demand for free elections and representative government.”
Machado attended Yale through the World Fellows Program (now the Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program). Yale University congratulated her on the award, celebrating her dedication to democratic governance.
