The inaugural YaleWomen Award for Excellence was bestowed in 2016, in recognition of an individual whose work exemplified the goals and aspirations for which YaleWomen was founded. The primary purpose of this award is to acknowledge the work of the award recipient in advancing and giving voice to issues that impact women’s lives and to thank her. In addition, bestowal of this award will serve to emphasize the extraordinary importance of such efforts and allows the recipient to stand as an aspirational model for others.
