About the Event:
Ernesto Zedillo served as President of Mexico from 1994 to 2000. Before being elected president, Zedillo spent many years working in academia in Mexico and in the Central Bank of Mexico; he then served the National Government of Mexico as Undersecretary of the Budget, as Secretary of Economic Programming and Budget, and as Secretary of Education. While in office, he instituted a number of initiatives designed to curb political corruption, to create freer elections, and to introduce economic reforms. He now teaches economics at Yale, specifically two undergraduate seminars on “Debating Globalization” and “The Economic Evolution and Challenges of the Latin American and Caribbean Countries.” Zedillo sits on the boards of several think-tank organisations and policy institutes including the Group of Thirty (G30); the Global Development Network; the Natural Resource Governance Institute; the Inter-American Dialogue; the Global Commission on Drug Policy; the Global Commission on Elections, Democracy and Security chaired by Kofi Annan; and others. In July, 2013, Zedillo joined The Elders, a group of independent global leaders who work together on peace and human rights issues. Please join us for a stimulating discussion and a memorable event.
Please note: Book early to avoid disappointment.
