Venue: The Greenwood sports bar in Victoria, where we will have exclusive use of the first floor, whilst being able to access the main lounge and American bar on the ground floor. The Greenwood’s excellent restaurant will offer a full 3-course meal with a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian options.
In order to better plan the meal and food logistics, Greeenwood has requested to communicate (where possible) individual choices 2 or 3 days ahead. The week before the event we will circulate a link where people can register their choice for the 3 courses (and hopefully remember those at the restaurant!).
Price: The price of the dinner is £34 per head. In the spirit of trying to make this event accessible for all of our members, the Club is also offering a subsidised price of just £20 per head for anyone who feels this is more affordable. For members who wish the help the Club make this event accessible for all, there is also an option to contribute a donation towards the cost of the event via the booking portal – any contributions would be greatly appreciated by the Club!
Drinks: The price mentioned above includes dinner, but drinks will have to be purchased separately. The first floor of the Greenwood features a bar that will be exclusively for the YCL, where bottles of wine, beer, and other drinks can be purchased throughout the evening. Members are requested to only purchase drinks at this bar, because these will count against a minimum spend that the club has agreed to underwrite for the evening.
Raffle: To give a bit more colour and excitement to the event, we will run a raffle during the evening. Tickets will be on sale at the event, and proceeds will be used to offset part of the event costs. If anyone is willing to donate prizes towards the raffle (hampers, wine, tickets for shows, experiences, etc – creativity welcome!) please reach out to Kamilla. A dedicated email will be sent shortly before the event with details of the raffle and prizes.
Speaker: This year we have a roster of candidates that include World Fellows, diplomats, educators and former politicians. We are still finalising our choice and, as such, a speaker will be announced in a separate email, closer to the event.
