Thirty-nine students from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies spent the summer break working as interns and conducting independent research in countries all over the world. They tracked snow leopards in the mountains of Tajikistan and examined the effects of post-disaster intervention in Pakistan. They studied the effects of the World Cup on sustainability efforts in Brazil and helped write UN policy reports for leaders in the Arab region.
We recently checked in with several of them to find out how the summer has gone, what they’ve learned, and whether they encountered any major surprises. They also shared some insights on how they paid for their travel.
