“The Global Zika Outbreak” ~ at Yale-NUS College

On 1 February 2016, the Director-General of WHO declared the cluster of microcephaly cases and other neurological disorders associated with Zika a health emergency. In response to the global Zika outbreak, WHO/PAHO and its other partners set up the Zika Strategic Response Plan in July 2016 which aimed to support governments and communities in the management of the Zika virus through detection, prevention, provision of care and support, and research.

In this mini-lecture, Professor Heymann will be sharing about WHO’s response to the global Zika outbreak, bringing his experience and key public health perspective to the matter. Please RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/globalzika.
