On May 9, 2014, at the 70th Congress of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) in Skopje, Macedonia, the Yale Film Study Center was granted Associate status as an affiliate of FIAF. Yale joins the ranks of more than 150 film archives in more than 75 countries around the world, united in a common goal to collect, preserve, and share the world’s moving image heritage.
FIAF brings together the world’s leading institutions in the field of moving picture heritage. Its affiliates are the defenders of the art form of the 20th century, motion pictures. They are dedicated to the rescue, collection, preservation, and screening of moving images, and to promoting their value both as works of art and culture and as historical documents.
