Ambassador Power, a 1992 graduate of Yale College, has had an extraordinary career already as a journalist, human rights activist, academic and diplomat. She has written or co-edited four books, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide, a study of the U.S. foreign policy response to genocide. She has most recently been traveling to the Ebola-affected areas of West Africa, helping to raise international awareness of the resources required to fight the epidemic. She has also been engaging in public education to help those outside the affected countries understand the proper levels of caution to observe regarding travel, especially travel involving critical health care workers.
