Catch our Yale World Fellow Tim Jarvis on PBS.
Tim is a renowned environmental scientist and polar explorer. In January 2013, he and a crew of five intrepid souls re-created one of history’s most epic adventures: Sir Ernest Shackleton’s famous 1916 Antarctic survival journey. Using period-piece equipment and gear, Tim and his crew sailed a 22-foot wooden boat 800 nautical miles across the roughest seas in the world to South Georgia Island and trekked 32-miles over glaciers.
A 3-part documentary about the voyage, Chasing Shackleton, begins this week on PBS.
Check out interviews with Tim here and here, and buy a copy of his book about the voyage here.
