Dear Friends,
The Alumni Task Force on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was formed in 2016 at the request of the Board of Governors of the Association of Yale Alumni. It is my privilege to receive their final report as the current chair of the board.
The task force was given the following mission:
- to provide leadership on the development of diversity and inclusion strategies in existing alumni programming,
- to leverage all forms of diversity to strengthen the alumni network, and
- to make recommendations for potential new programming and initiatives that might be offered to the Yale alumni community.
The report is the result of the work of many thoughtful and dedicated alumni under the leadership of alumni Sheryl Carter Negash ’82 and Ken Inadomi ’76, with the support of AYA staff Jenny Chavira ‘89 and Nicholas Roman Lewis ’93. I thank them all for their many hours of work and their love of Yale.
This report will be studied and its recommendations seriously considered. It is the starting point for the AYA’s work on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
