The ambitious plan, the culmination of a seven-month planning process that incorporated input and feedback from the entire F&ES community, aims to refocus the community’s shared vision and mission and sets the priorities for the next three to five years.
The 24-page plan is built around the School’s aspirational mission to lead the world toward a sustainable future with cutting-edge research, teaching, and public engagement on society’s evolving and urgent environmental challenges.
In the coming months a group of inclusive faculty-led committees will take the next steps, crafting specific strategies, timelines, resource needs, and metrics for the goals articulated in the plan.
“There are tremendous opportunities to strengthen the impact of F&ES as the best interdisciplinary environment school in the world,” said Dean Indy Burke, who has led the strategic planning process. “We should take this moment to sharpen our focus and to be ambitious in articulating our aspirations and developing strategies to achieve them.”
