Nicole Perone ‘16 M.Div. recently returned to the U.S. after a trip to the Vatican to speak on the “Voices of Faith” panel event on women in the Church. We sat down with her to learn more about her experience and her hopes for the Church.

YDS: Tell us about your experience in Rome!

Nicole Perone: I was honored to speak on a panel in the Vatican on International Women’s Day. As part of the Voices Of Faith (link is external) event, our panel conversation addressed the topic of women’s leadership in the Roman Catholic Church. It was especially exciting to be in the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, which is located in the heart of the Vatican, surrounded by Vatican employees, the media, and other women doing outstanding work for the Church and world.
