Yale International Alliance meeting at the 2015 AYA assembly

The Yale International Alliance held a special meeting at November’s AYA Assembly to discuss the needs of international Yale Clubs and what the YIA could do to help.  Nearly 20 alumni leaders representing over 10 countries held a lively discussion around the fact that international alumni can feel very isolated. In response to this the YIA presented three solutions it is using to help international alumni feel like they are more connected to the Yale community:

1. The YIA website and social media, which can be used by international alumni to advertise events or news in their region:

2. Career panels and mentoring programmes aimed to connect Yalies with alumni around the world

3. Virtual lectures through the Shindig virtual platform

Over the next year the YIA will be working with international Yale Clubs to help them connect with the larger Yale community.  Please get in touch if you have any ideas or would like more information: [email protected]
