John Wettlaufer, the A.M. Bateman Professor of Geophysics, Mathematics & Physics, has been elected as a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in its Class for Physics.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, one of the Royal Academies of Sweden, is an independent, non-governmental scientific organization that promotes the sciences. Among other duties, it is a selection board for international prizes such as the Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry.
