The Yale Visitor’s Center will provide us with a glimpse into the history and architecture of the University. The tours start at the Yale Visitor Center at 149 Elm Street New Haven, CT 06511. Though this tour, you’ll get to hear about Yale’s rich 300-year history and aspects of student life at several of Yale’s twelve residential colleges.

Summer Welcome Brunch & Walk to East Rock Park.

The nicest way to meet new people over the summer! The OISS is happy to provide a welcome brunch for recently-arrived international students, scholars and their partners (everyone is welcome). We’ll meet for a light brunch here at the OISS, and then walk up to East Rock Park for a scenic and refreshing view of our city! The event is free, but advance registration is required.

Tour of the Marsh Botanical Garden

Tour the gardens and glass houses, including tropical collections with carnivorous plants! In the summer, the naturalistic beds and wildflower plantings provide color and attract birds and butterflies, so this will be a fun time to visit the lovely Marsh Botanical Garden at Yale University. Atacama Ensemble and Mary McBride at the New Haven Green

The OISS will proudly host a reception prior to the Atacama Ensemble and Mary McBride concerts on Wednesday June 24th, 2015.

The Atacama Ensemble combines the unique talents of four musicians whose musical backgrounds range from South American folkloric oral tradition to purely western classical training. Mary McBride and her band have released four albums and have received significant acclaim for their performance of the on-screen and soundtrack music of the Academy-award winning film Brokeback Mountain. Mary is the founder of the Home Tour which uses live music to enrich lives, inspire, and connect people, and engage communities around the world.

The event is free, but registration is required. The reception will start at 4:30, and the concerts will begin at 6pm in downtown New Haven.
